Oh, The Places You’ll Go! By Dr. Seuss

Mamma Kangaroo Reads the classic Oh, The Places You’ll Go! A perennial favorite, Dr. Seuss’s wonderfully wise graduation speech is the perfect send-off for children starting out in the world, be they nursery school, high school, or college grads! From soaring to high heights and seeing great sights to being left in a Lurch on a prickle-ly perch, Dr. Seuss addresses life’s ups and downs with his trademark humorous verse and illustrations, while encouraging readers to find the success that lies within. In a starred review, Booklist notes: “Seuss’s message is simple but never sappy: life may be a ‘Great Balancing Act,’ but through it all ‘There’s fun to be done.’”

Giraffes Can’t Dance By Giles Andreae & Guy Parker-Rees

Giraffes Can’t Dance is a touching tale of Gerald the giraffe, who wants nothing more than to dance. With crooked knees and thin legs, it’s harder for a giraffe than you would think. Gerald is finally able to dance to his own tune when he gets some encouraging words from an unlikely friend.

With light-footed rhymes and high-stepping illustrations, this tale is gentle inspiration for every child with dreams of greatness.

Review: Gerald the giraffe doesn’t really have delusions of grandeur. He just wants to dance. But his knees are crooked and his legs are thin, and all the other animals mock him when he approaches the dance floor at the annual Jungle Dance. “Hey, look at clumsy Gerald,” they sneer. “Oh, Gerald, you’re so weird.” Poor Gerald slinks away as the chimps cha-cha, rhinos rock ‘n’ roll, and warthogs waltz. But an encouraging word from an unlikely source shows this glum giraffe that those who are different “just need a different song,” and soon he is prancing and sashaying and boogying to moon music (with a cricket accompanist). In the vein of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Gerald’s fickle “friends” quickly decide he’s worthy of their attention again.

Blancanieves (Clásicos Disney) – Disney Princesas Blancanieves Libro

Había una vez una princesa llamada Blancanieves;
Sus labios eran siempre rojos como las rosas;

Su madrastra la reina un espejo mágico tenía;
“¿Quién es la más bella del reino?” preguntó;
“Eres tú, mi Reina” el espejo obediente contestó.

Todos los días la misma respuesta obtenía;
“Blancanieves ha superado tu belleza;
Ella está llena de amabilidad y grandeza”

Sintió celos de Blancanieves por ser tan bella;
Le pidió a un cazador que de ella se deshiciera;
no quería que Blancanieves con vida siguiera.

“Quiero que lo hagas con mucha discreción;
Sin embargo el cazador su tarea no pudo cumplir;
pues deseaba que Blancanieves pudiese vivir.

Blancanieves se acercó a una cabaña escondida;
Ella no sabía que siete enanos adentro vivían;

Blancanieves despertó con un gran temor;
¿Quiénes eran esos pequeños a su alrededor?

“Espero no les importe. Me quedé muy dormida;
en este profundo bosque me encontraba perdida.
La Reina me quería lastimar y tuve que huir;
Si me quedaba en palacio seguro iba a morir.”

Los enanos eran amables y querían que se quedara;
viviendo con los enanos ella estaría segura.
La Reina al espejo le preguntó por lo sucedido;

Una anciana entró en la casa un día por la mañana;
“Querida, ¿te gustaría probar una manzana?”
Blancanieves pensó “que amable anciana”.
aunque su vieja voz parecía la de una rana.

La dulce anciana tenía la manzana en la mano;
Blancanieves la comió como estaba planeado.
Los enanos llegaron demasiado tarde a la cocina;

Blancanieves cayó entonces en un sueño profundo;
alrededor del cajón los enanos estaban llorando.
De casualidad un príncipe por la zona pasaba;

Le preguntó a los enanos si darle un beso podría;

El hechizo se rompió; la maldición se había ido;
Blancanieves despertó cuando había amanecido.

La Reina fue castigada por su mala intención;

Los enanos en sus grandes amigos se convirtieron;
Todos juntos desde entonces siempre estuvieron.
El reino celebró que Blancanieves era reina;
